Apple Recipes
APPLE CRISP
2 cups Orchard Country apples-sliced
¾ c sugar
1Tb flour
1 tsp cinnamon
½ c brown sugar
½ c flour
½ cup oatmeal
¼ c butter
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp baking powder
Mix first 4 ingredients.
Place in 8 x 8 pan.
Crumble rest of
ingredients together.
Place over apples. Bake
@ 350 degrees for 30 min
or until apples are soft.
Serve warm with vanilla
ice cream.
APPLESAUCE BREAKFAST CAKE
1 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/4 c. cooking oil
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt (optional)
TOPPING:
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Mix together the brown sugar, butter and cinnamon from the topping ingredients until crumbly. Add nuts. Stir to mix. Set aside. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add well beaten egg, applesauce, oil and vanilla, mix well. Pour batter into well greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Sprinkle Topping over batter. Bake @ 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Delicious for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
